FIRST® Robotics Competition - Texas
Starting with a Kit of Parts, teams of high school students design, program, and build industrial-sized robots to play an action-packed game, released in January. They compete on a themed field as part of a three-team alliance in the spirit of Coopertition®. In 360-degree learning guided by adult mentors, each FIRST® Robotics Competition team also creates a team identity, raises funds to meet its goals, and advances appreciation for STEM in its community.
Season Registration
$6,500/season registration
What's included:
Official FIRST Robotics Competition team number for new teams.
Kit of Parts including the Kickoff Kit, Virtual Kit, and FIRST Choice credits.
Eligibility for submitted awards, including the FIRST Impact Award (veterans only), student FIRST Leadership Award, and Woodie Flowers Finalist Award.
Participant/alum access to career discovery opportunities, connections to scholarships/employers, and a place in the FIRST community for life.
Access to team roster to register team members including mentors and participants.
Participation at one (1) Regional Event for Regional Teams and participation at two (2) District Events for District Teams.
Supporting Materials & Training
Each team registration includes a Kit of Parts and free mentor courses hosted in FIRST Training.
If a team is not attending a local Kickoff, they have the option to be a “MySite” team and have their Kickoff Kit shipped, after Kickoff, to an address of their choice for an additional fee.
Kickoff Kit - a box of parts delivered to teams at the start of the season.
FIRST Choice - items available via an online menu in exchange for credits issued to all teams.
Virtual Kit - products available directly from FIRST Suppliers either via download or custom order.
Event Information
District Model: Teams have the opportunity to compete at two smaller-scale District Events as part of their season registration. Some District Teams will earn enough ranking points at these District events to earn their way to the District Championship Event. Each District sends a representative number of Teams to the FIRST Championship through the District Championship Event
2026-2027 BIOCORE™ Season
Each January marks the launch of a brand-new challenge for FIRST® Robotics Competition teams. Through hands-on learning guided by dedicated mentors, participants develop engineering and problem-solving skills while also strengthening teamwork, raising funds to support their season, and inspiring excitement for STEM in their communities.
In BIOCORE™ presented by Haas, a new challenge releasing January 9, 2027, FIRST Robotics Competition teams will use engineering skills and delve into the heart of what sustains life on Earth. BIOCORE is part of the FIRST® CANOPY™ season.
