Team Grants
FIRST® works hard throughout the year to raise money from corporate, government, and individual donors to both fund program deliver and provide direct financial support to teams. The total amount available for team grants changes from year to year based on the giving priorities of our sponsors, which may also include critera for team support.
With only one application, Texas teams can be considered for funding from multiple statewide partners. FIRST Texas works behind the scenes to "match” team applications to funding sources and can bundle proceeds from multiple sources in order to maximize the proceeds provided while minimizing administration.
Applications are now open for the 2026–2027 season and will be awarded on a rolling basis as funds become available.
Grant Details
The amounts awarded to each team are determined on a case-by-case basis, disclosed privately, and influenced by the number of applicants, total funds raised, and sponsor restrictions.
Funds awarded are generally applied directly to teams’ FIRST Dashboards to support registration and purchase of goods from the FIRST storefront.
We have generous sponsors and donors that sometimes have restrictions or guidelines on how their contributions can be used. These restrictions may be based on program (e.g. FIRST® Robotics Competition), geography (city or region), school/organization type, and other attributes.
