FLL Event Schedules and Selection: What to Expect

Preparing for a FIRST LEGO League event involves three parts: completing your FIRST HQ season registration, paying the applicable Texas event fee, and completing your region’s event selection or assignment process.

This guide focuses on event selection: how your team chooses or is assigned an event. Below, you’ll find:

  • When regional event schedules are expected to be available.

  • When event selection opens and how the process differs by region.

  • What your team can do now to prepare.

The table below shows how event selection fits into the overall registration process.

Three Parts of Team Registration in Texas
Registration Part What It Involves Helpful Guides

Completing FIRST HQ registration or paying an event fee does not automatically reserve a place at a specific event. Follow your region’s selection or assignment instructions to confirm placement.

FLL Explore - Founders Edition

FLL Explore event dates and event selection information will be released in November.

We will share festival opportunities and instructions for selecting an event as those details become available. Teams can use this time to continue working on their projects and watch for regional updates.

FLL Future Edition

Texas Future Edition events will be limited. As of October 1, we currently have only one Future Edition event planned, in Temple. Additional opportunities will depend on interest and event planning. Texas will not host a Future Edition regional or state championship.

We are still finalizing the FLL Future Edition event calendar. We expect to follow a similar approach: share the schedule so teams have time to review their options, then open event selection.
