BIOGLOW™ FIRST LEGO League Registration Details
We are ready to share the 2026–2027 FLL registration and event prices while we continue building the process teams will use to pay Texas fees and select events.
Registration looks a little different for FIRST LEGO League this season. Teams may choose between the Founders Edition and the new Future Edition, with options that vary by grade band and number of students served. Texas will primarily offer Founders Edition Explore and Challenge events, with at least one Future Edition event also planned.
Although the exact registration process varies by edition and region, registration generally happens in up to three stages:
FIRST HQ Season Registration, which establishes the team and provides the materials and resources included with its selected registration option.
Texas Qualifying Event Fee, which covers participation in an initial festival, qualifier, or other Texas event. The plan is for registration to occur on the FIRST Storefront with more details available in late September/early October.
Texas Advancement Event Fee, applies only to Challenge teams that advance, accept an invitation, and continue competing beyond their qualifier event.
A New Fee Structure for Challenge Teams
In previous seasons, every Challenge team paid one Texas fee that included the potential cost of participating from its Qualifier through the Texas State Championship, regardless of how far the team advanced.
Based on team feedback about that flat-fee model, we have lowered the initial Texas season fee and separated the costs of advancing events. The initial fee covers one Qualifier. Teams will pay an additional fee only if they advance, accept an invitation, and continue to a Regional or State Championship.
We know this means advancing teams may need to plan for an additional cost later in the season. FIRST Texas Team Grants are available to help offset season and advancing-event fees, and applications are now open.
26-27 Texas Event Fee Pricing
The table below brings these registration stages and fees together in one place. Not every fee will apply to every team.
Future Edition Qualifying Event Fees are still being decided for the statewide event and are not currently included in the table below.
What Happens Next
These prices are now confirmed, but Texas fee payment and event-selection processes are still being finalized. Once regional calendars are complete, teams will receive more information about payment timelines, submitting event preferences, and confirming event assignments.
Teams do not need to select events yet. New and returning teams can complete their annual FIRST Season Registration now so they are ready when Texas registration opens.
